I believe I will always be "Ronin". My samurai days are over, even if I find myself behind a badge again I don't think I will serve a master other than myself ever again. However there are departments and opportunities where my brand of action is appreciated and encouraged.

I was recently sought out for a private security gig. One I chose to accept. One that is handled by a department very unlike the one I left. Where acting honestly and with integrity well inside the law with solid justification IS the only way. Because of this each person is given incredible latitude.

It is a part-time temp kind of thing. But, still nice to feel wanted and put in a position that shows my prior service is appreciated, as well as my way of things. I'm thinking of it as possibly easing my way back in before further contemplating the idea of acquiring a new badge. Or, maybe I'll jump in to some contractor work with one of my friends.

Just nice to not feel like an outcast that can do no right as I am opposed and find conflict at every turn and action.
